Ordination of Women

Apologies to readers over the past couple of months. Things have been pretty slow here at Ministry Sister but hopefully they will pick up again during the autumn semester. In the meantime, for anyone who hasn't yet seen it, here are the words of the GC President on the ordination of women.

Hmmmmmm ... many thoughts on this topic but I always come back to the same place. Jesus was never accepted as an equal by his religious leaders and I'm sure, "For-the-sake-of-church-unity" was high on their agenda too. Jesus is proof that if you dare to challenge church leadership you may be brutally crucified by them! Sadly, they were so focused on THEIR agenda that they were blind to GOD'S agenda. Nevertheless, Jesus was not on a mission to gain acceptance by church leadership ... His focus remained on what he was called to do.

Where does that leave me, a woman in ministry today? It's not fair! BUT ... nor was Jesus treated as He deserved - that too was unfair but it still did NOT stop God's purpose being fulfilled. I have been called to "ministry" and I can achieve that whether I am ordained or not. I have not been called to gain acceptance from my hierarchy - and if they are being blind to God's agenda, then that is between them and God! Meanwhile, I will continue to keep my eyes focused on Jesus and remain "Going about My Father's business"!

Neen :-)

This is the right spirit...God called us but He never said that it would be easy...but if He is on our side, we know the outcome.

Good to see that there is still some juice in this blog, even during summer vacation.
